Of course if it "teleports" into a room with dwellers then that would be great. My strategy is to simply have enough excess power production and storage capacity to completely ignore rad scorpion attacks. It is not worth chasing after rad scorpions due to their "teleport" ability. Rad scorpions can "teleport" into any room regardless of how much empty levels there in between your production and storage rooms. The caveat though are rad scorpion invasions. so these types of incident can be ignored. Since storage rooms are isolated from all other rooms in the vault fires, mole rats, and rad roaches cannot affect other rooms if they start in storage rooms. Fires in storage rooms do not do any damage to your inventory items. Anytime there is an incident in a storage room I simply ignore it which is the reason why they are separate from all the other rooms. There is no point in assigning a dweller to a storage room since there is absolutely no benefits in doing so. I currently have "4 levels worth" of storage rooms. Later on when I had a lot of caps I decided to remodel my vault and placed all storage rooms in the lowest levels that the game allows. At first they were simply a few level below all of my existing rooms. I keep my storage rooms away from all other rooms.
